First plan, then 📌.
Having a Pinterest marketing strategy and content plan will prevent you from burning out or completely ghosting Pinterest. A clear plan allows you to stay on track. You can then analyze your account after a few months to see what’s working, and what needs to change.
1. What content should I share on Pinterest?
People go to Pinterest to find ideas and inspiration. You should create content they can relate to and post ideas that motivate them to try something new.
Once you’ve researched your niche, create informational content around your main topics. For higher engagement; ask questions, give fun facts, memes, post videos, and more.
Keep your pins inspiring, motivational, and actionable.
2. How many times a day should you pin on Pinterest?
There is no definite answer to how many pins you should post per day. It depends on your marketing goals, how fast you want to grow your audience, and how much time you have.Â
The most important thing to know is that you should be pinning high-quality content consistently.Â
Whether you’re posting 1, 5, or 15 pins a day, be consistent with it so you can retain your audience.
3. Are your pins worth sharing?
Having the best Pinterest SEO techniques will get your pins in front of others, but it’s not so easy to get them to click on your pins.
You need eye-catching pins made with your brand colors and fonts. Also, your pins should promise something to the viewer such as ‘X ways to achieve Y in _ days.’

How to schedule pins on TailwindÂ
Below are the steps for scheduling pins with Tailwind:Â
- Log into Tailwind and go to your schedule tab at the top.
- Click recreate schedule and set the daily amount of pins you want published.
- Make sure your drafts are clear and all the pins you’re about to create are going to one board.
- Enter the pin details: title, description, hashtags, and keywords.
- If you’re creating multiple pins for one blog post, target different keywords in each pin description.
- Add your URL to the pin. If your website is claimed your homepage URL will be in the link section. Just paste your link over it and hit enter.Â
- Choose relevant boards. Since all of our pins in ‘drafts’ are going to the same board, let’s speed this up by typing the board name(s) in the box on top and hitting enter. The board name will appear on all of the pins.
- Click the interval section below and select the time gap between pins, this prevents the same pin from going to multiple boards at once. I have chosen to have them 5 days apart, so my pin will first go to the 1st board, then after 5 days it’ll be pinned to the second board, and so on.
- Select a time slot or go by what Tailwind suggests [open time slots], as I do!
- Click schedule. Do this for the remaining pins. Or schedule all drafts.

How to increase engagement on your pins
If you’re a beginner on Pinterest it can seem hard to get clicks on your pins. But as long as people are seeing them you will eventually get more clicks, saves, comments, and much more!
One way to boost your impressions on Pinterest as a beginner is to use Pinterest Idea Pins.
What are Idea Pins?
Idea pins are the Pinterest version of story pins. Idea pins have a notes section where you can write all the information needed to achieve the same results as in the idea pin.
You can also feature products in Idea Pins that you want to recommend to your audience.
*Include everything people need to act on your idea in the notes.
What is the difference between a pin and an idea pin?
Idea pins are like Instagram stories [with the same 1080×1920 dimensions] except they don’t disappear after 24 hours…idea pins last forever.
Idea pins may contain multiple images or just a video. Although they don’t link out to sites like a regular pin, they can get you more followers on Pinterest. Â
Can you upload idea pins to Tailwind?
A new Pinterest feature came out this year that allows you to schedule idea pins on mobile. I hope they do this for desktop soon, but at least we got something to work with.
How often should I post idea pins?
Idea pins widen your reach on Pinterest. If you want to get the most out of idea pins, post them on the days your audience is most engaged. Post at least one idea pin weekly for a start.
You can use the free version of Tailwind to know when your audience is the most active.
Is there a way to schedule idea pins?
You can schedule idea pins on mobile with Pinterest. When you create an idea pin on mobile, after filling in the details, select ‘schedule date‘ and choose a day and time for the idea pin to go out.

Can everyone see all my pins on Pinterest?Â
When you publish a pin your followers will see it. Also, Pinterest is a search engine so when a user searches for something, if your pin title or description has those words in them your pin will appear in their feed.
If you don’t want people to see your pins you can go to Pinterest board options, and make your board secret. Then all the pins on that board will only be visible to you.
